What are Cascading Style Sheets? Why should I CARE how my site is build?

Style sheets separate content from design. In some cases, you can redesign an entire site just by changing the style sheet - which can save you money. Changes are faster and more efficient - but the benefits go beyond that. Using style sheets improves the ability of search engines to scan your website, and it's helpful for handicapped users that require screen readers.

Whereas an "old fashioned" site might use tables to create structure, style sheets do the same thing - but keep content together so it's easier to read and so it can make more sense for search engines. It's also possible to give more emphasis to one group of content over another - helpful if you want something important near the bottom of the page. A styled page is also faster loading.

There are also some special effects that can only be done with style sheets such as transparency and layers. So if you have a choice, have your web developer use them whenever possible - it will save you time and money when you need updates.

	Did you know Xylitol in sugarless gum, candies, baked goods, and other foods is poisonous to dogs? At this time it's not known if it is dangerous for other pets, but last year the ASPCA managed more than 170 cases of xylitol ingestion. Dogs ingesting it can develop fairly sudden drop in blood sugar, resulting in depression, loss of coordination, and seizures. In severe cases, there is the potential for fatal liver failure. Symptoms can arise quickly - 30 minutes after ingestion - or hours or days later. If your dog ingests Xylitol call the ASPCA Poison control Center at 1-888-426-4435 (fees may apply) for immediate aid. And you thought the recent dog food scare was the only issue!
